Collection: Wonka Candy

The Wonka candy we all remember!

Retro Candy from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory!

The magical, delicious place of Willy Wonka was first imagined in Roald Dahl's book Charlie And The Chocolate Factory.
When a famous film director's daughter read the book, 10-year-old Madeline begged her father to turn it into a movie. She begged him relentlessly, convincing her father to show the book to "Uncle Dave". Uncle Dave just happened to be a movie producer. Mel Stuart eventually brought the book to Dave, and David Woper just happened to be in talks with The Quaker Oats Company at the time. Wolper convinced The Quaker Oat Company to finance the film version in exchange for a candy tie-in. The Quaker Oats Company had no experience in the film industry but was intrigued by the whole idea and moved quickly to buy the rights to the book. This allowed The Quaker Oats Company to promote their new bar.
Madeline set off a huge chain of events, and whenever I think of Willy Wonka, I think of her.
Roald Dahl's book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was renamed Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory. This was done to promote the Wonka Candy Brand, a very wise decision.
To this day, many products from Roald Dahl's book, including Everlasting Gobstoppers, Sweetarts, Laffy Taffy, Nerds Candy, Bottlecaps Candy, Fun Dip, Spree, and Runts Candy are available.
I always wonder what candy Roald Dahl's favorite was because we all have a Wonka Candy favorite!
